Rémi Brague, born 1947, is married with four children. A former student of the Ecole Normale Supérieure (Paris), he gained his PhD in 1976 and his Doctorat ès-lettres in1986. He taught in a high-school for four years from 1972-1976 and was a research-fellow at the CNRS between 1976-1988. He was made Professor of Greek Philosophy at the University of Burgundy in 1988 and remained there until 1990, when he became Professor of Arabic Philosophy at Paris I, a position he held until 2010. In 2002 he was appointed to the Romano Guardini-Chair for Philosophy of the European Religions at Ludwig-Maximilians Universität Munich and stayed there until 2012. He holds visiting professorships at Penn State, Boston University, Boston College, San Raffaele (Milan) and Universidad de Navarra (Pamplona). His published books in English include: Eccentric Culture (2002), The Wisdom of the World (2003), The Law of God (2007), The Legend of the Middle Ages (2009), On the God of the Christians (2012), The Legitimacy of the Human (2016), and The Anchors in the Sky (2016).
Sebastian Brock (b.1938) is Emeritus Reader in Syriac Studies in the University of Oxford, an Emeritus Fellow at Wolfson College and a Fellow of the British Academy. He has published widely on the history and literature of the Syriac tradition and is the acknowledged authority in Syriac Studies. He was awarded a number of honorary doctorates, the Medal of Saint Ephrem the Syrian and the Leverhulme medal of the British Academy.
Anna Yuen is the Executive Director of Show Art Design and Construction Ltd, a design firm based in Shanghai which she co-founded with her husband.
Previously, Anna specialized in tourism studies and Japanese. She worked in exhibition organization for almost fifteen years in the 1980's, and held the position of Vice President of China Promotion, an exhibition organization firm based in Hong Kong.
Anna's main concern is to promote education and the well being of disadvantaged children and young people. She is actively involved in setting up and maintaining various charity projects in China for left-behind children. She has been happily married for thirty years and is the mother of two adult daughters.
